Two Travers Collins & Company Annual Reports Singled Out for National RecognitionBooks for clients Hardinge and Community Bank System praised in world’s largest annual report competition BUFFALO, N.Y., August 11, 2008 –Travers Collins & Company (TC&C) was honored once again at the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) Annual Report Competition, with two annual report entries taking home awards. TC&C client Hardinge earned a Bronze Award as the 4th best of 27 equipment, machinery and instrument companies. They received an overall ranking of 395 out of 3,161 entries, higher than 88% of the field. Another client, Community Bank System, received Honors recognition as the 5th best of 20 smaller commercial banks. Its overall ranking of 438 was higher than 86% of the total competition entries. Both books were praised for their strength of design and scored well in all evaluation categories. “Despite there being three times as many entries now as there were when we first got involved, and even with an influx of submissions from large international companies, TC&C work continues to hold its own,” said Lynn Casteel, executive vice president and managing director, investor relations, Travers Collins & Company. “Our budgets may be relatively small, but that is not reflected in the quality of what is produced.” This annual report competition is the largest worldwide. 23% of the entries were from Fortune 1000 organizations and 34% from Forbes Global 2000 companies. More than 75% of the 2,370 entries did not receive Vision Award recognition. The LACP Vision Awards evaluate both the quality of annual report design and the strategic appropriateness of the content. The evaluations are based on eight factors: first impression, report cover, letter to shareholders, report narrative, report financials, creativity, message clarity, and information accessibility. Travers Collins & Company, headquartered at 726 Exchange St., is one of Buffalo-Niagara's largest locally owned and operated marketing communications firms, employing a staff of 46. Its investor relations group has been in practice since 1993. The firm is a member of the Worldcom Public Relations Group, the world's largest network of independent public relations firms, as well as the Transworld Advertising Agency Network (TAAN). |
